When I first heard about Google Generative AI, my first thought was, "Wow, this is huge!" It felt like something that could really change the game, not just for me but for my clients and for all of you too.
Up until now, Google has been a tough battlefield. It doesn't matter if you run an e-commerce store, a local shop, or an online business—you're always up against the big players. These big dogs spend tons of money to grab that top spot in Google search results. And let's not forget about those Google ads that pop up right at the top before any of the usual search results.
But then I got to check out Google Generative AI for myself and for a few of our clients. Guess what? Now we've got multiple videos and blog posts ranking number 1 on Google.
Generative AI is changing the game for everyone in e-commerce. Just like our clients, your e-commerce products could also be hitting number one on Google. It’s like suddenly, the SEO playing field has been leveled. It’s a now or never moment to hop on this exciting train. So, where does your business stand? If you’re just starting out or you’ve been in the game for a while, it’s time to get into action.
Here's how you can do it: Start leveraging YouTube videos. That’s what we do. We also advise our clients with e-commerce stores to showcase their products in action. It's a proven strategy that works wonders in improving your Google rankings. Hi, I'm Brad Smith, owner of AutomationLinks. I’ve been immersed in the marketing world for over 8 years, helping people kickstart and expand their online businesses.
I made a big decision to go all-in with YouTube to tap into the power of Google Generative AI. Back in August, my channel had only 14 subscribers. Fast forward to now, and I've just hit an incredible milestone of 100,000 subscribers. What's surprising is that most of these subscribers didn't come directly from YouTube; they found me through Google. That's right, despite having profiles on other social networks like my X (formerly Twitter) account, it's Google Generative AI that's been funneling the most viewers to my channel.
When you check Google, you'll notice that my YouTube videos often pop up first in search results. For example, if someone types in "WordPress" or "Wix," my videos and blog posts are likely to appear at the top. This visibility is no accident; it’s the result of a strategic focus on leveraging Google's Generative AI. Today, I’m excited to share the framework I used, which you can implement in your business too. Whether you’re running an e-commerce platform and want to showcase your products, or you're managing a local or online business and want to integrate YouTube videos, this strategy can elevate your Google presence.
Just five days ago, I posted a new video and guess what? My blog and YouTube videos shot up to No. 1. It’s pretty cool and it’s proof that we’re really leveling the playing field. Here’s a quick peek: when you search using Google Generative AI, two of my YouTube videos pop up at the top, giving a full rundown of what my business does.
Let’s look at an example. You might see the usual suspects in search results—those old-school folks with slick websites or those who’ve spent heaps on SEO. But if you scroll just a bit, under a competitive keyword like "get more leads without ads," you’ll start seeing my videos. And get this, my videos are even ranking higher than Neil Patel's, and he’s a big name in marketing!
Now, let’s talk practical. When I wanted to learn how to grill snapper—a type of fish—I didn’t go through pages of Google results. I did a quick search: "best way to grill snapper on the grill." The top result? A YouTube video. I clicked, I learned, I subscribed. This wasn't from YouTube directly but from Google Search. That video got a new subscriber and an extra viewer, thanks to Google.
How exactly can you leverage Google Generative AI to benefit your business? First things first: make sure your blog titles match your YouTube video titles. This creates a seamless experience for both Google and your users, enhancing your content's discoverability. If you're an e-commerce store, for instance, you should be creating blogs centered around your products. Say you're selling lights; you'll want to write a blog about a specific light within a particular category. Don’t forget to link back to the actual product page in your blog. This ties your content directly to your sales channels.
Similarly, if you’re selling apparel like T-shirts, write a blog post about why your T-shirts are the best fitting on the market, including links to purchase these T-shirts. At the top of your blog post, aim to provide Google with four simple tips, questions, and answers. This content is exactly what Google's Generative AI is looking to pull from. By delivering straightforward, helpful answers, you not only satisfy user questions but also boost your chances of appearing first in search results. In my own experience, these quick tips and answers have appeared even before my YouTube videos in search results, highlighting what Google prioritizes.
When you're setting up your blog, always start with a table of contents. It's super helpful for your readers and for SEO. But here's a crucial tip: make sure your YouTube video and your blog post have the exact same title. For example, if your blog post is called "How to Automate Social Media," your YouTube video should have the same name. This simple trick tells Google that both pieces of content are closely related and about the same topic. This way, you’re making it super clear to Google what you're talking about, which helps your content show up better in search results.
Let's say your blog and video are about the "best grill online." What shows up first in Google are usually images and links to actual grills, sometimes even a blog post about the best grills. This tells us that well-written and well-organized blog posts can rank really high, even higher than some product pages! Also, it's smart to link your blogs to places like Reddit and Quora where people talk about related topics. This makes your blog pop up more in searches because it's connected to these popular discussions.
To really ace SEO with Google Generative AI, you need to start by understanding how it works. Google wants to provide simple questions and answers that create a great user experience. That means your blog needs to be optimized with the right keywords that aren't overly saturated. For instance, instead of targeting broad terms like "best restaurant in New York"—which is incredibly competitive—go for something more specific like "best Chinese restaurant in the Bronx." This approach helps you stand out in a crowded market by being more precise.
Now, think about how you can apply this strategy to your business. Let’s say you’re promoting gyms. Instead of just "best gym in San Francisco," you could expand it to "best gym in San Francisco: free guide to finding your favorite gym." Adding words like "guide" not only refines your keyword but also adds value to your readers, making your content more likely to appear in search results. Remember, while it’s okay to use AI to help craft your content, it’s crucial to maintain your unique voice. A handy trick is to use transcriptions of your videos as a base for your blog posts. This way, the AI uses your own words, keeping the content authentic and original.
So there you have it—using Google Generative AI isn't just about throwing in keywords and hoping for the best. It’s about being smart with your choices and making your content work for you. Whether you’re spicing up your blog titles or digging deep for those niche keywords, it's all about standing out in a smart way. Remember, the goal is to create content that feels personal and directly answers your audience's questions. Keep it simple, keep it unique, and watch your Google rankings climb.
Google Generative AI is a technology that enhances search results by generating more relevant and detailed content. It levels the playing field for e-commerce and other businesses by improving visibility in search results. This means even smaller players can rank highly with the right strategies.
Businesses can leverage Google Generative AI by creating high-quality, relevant content, such as YouTube videos and blog posts. Optimizing these with matching titles, clear descriptions, and helpful tips will improve their chances of ranking higher on Google. Regularly updating content and tracking performance are also key.
Start with simple, high-quality content and keep it consistent. Use matching titles for blog posts and videos, include direct links to products, and provide clear answers to common questions. Regularly monitor and adapt your strategy based on performance to optimize your results.
