Why Critics Are Wrong About X (Twitter) Ads

 5 Key Takeaways

  1. Cost-Effective Advertising: X (Twitter) ads offer significantly lower costs compared to Meta and Google, with impressions as low as 4¢ per thousand and clicks down to 6¢.
  2. High Engagement and Reach: Over 4 million impressions, 32,000 tweet engagements, and 63,000 video views resulted from just a $1,000 ad spend, making it a powerful tool for brand visibility.
  3. Effective Retargeting: Engagement builds a valuable retargeting list, allowing you to repeatedly show ads to people who’ve already interacted with your content.
  4. Strong Return on Investment: With a 19x return on ad spend, X ads can drive impressive results, including 9 new clients and $19,000 in recurring subscription sales.
  5. Relationship Building: X ads are not just about sales but fostering relationships through organic content and engagement, helping build long-term brand loyalty.

Hey there! I'm really excited to share these results with you. Over the last three months, I’ve been running X (Twitter) ads on my account, and to be honest, the results have been better than I expected.

My name is Brad Smith, and I’m the owner of AutomationLinks. I’ve been in the marketing world for 10 years, helping over 25 clients. Today, I’ll walk you through how I set up my X ads, the results I’ve gotten, and what I’ll continue doing moving forward. Stick around until the end, and I’ll show you exactly how you can get my X ads course for free.

My Results Over the Last 3 Months

Here’s a breakdown of my results from the past three months:

  • My profile has grown significantly.
  • Impressions, profile visitors, and new followers are all up.
  • But the most important metrics? Engagement and media views are way up!

I saw a 70% increase in video views and a 74% jump in media views. This growth is crucial because it builds up my retargeting list, allowing me to show my ads to people again. Remember, most people don’t buy the first time they see something.

$1,000 Ad Spend: The Results

For this case study, I spent $1,000 and got over 4 million impressions! That means 4 million people saw my content, whether it was my videos, posts, or profile page.

To put it simply, you can’t get these results on Meta, Google, or YouTube. The cost and reach of X ads are outstanding. You can build your brand, gain followers, and ultimately drive more sales.

Cost Efficiency Breakdown

Let’s look at the cost side of things:

  • Cost per thousand impressions: This starts high but drops dramatically after about three days of running the ad. I got it down to 4¢ per thousand impressions. Imagine paying 4¢ for 1,000 people to see you!
  • Cost per click: My cost per click dropped to 6¢. For comparison, Meta and Google usually start at $5 per click. With X ads, you can reduce it to just 6¢ once you find winning ads and keep running them.

I had over 17,000 people visit my website with this ad spend, which is insane! Typically, you'd get about 1,000 visitors for the same spend on other platforms.

Engagement and Retargeting Strategy

For engagement, I was paying 4¢ per action, whether that was a like, comment, or profile visit. This engagement allows me to build my retargeting list. When setting up retargeting ads, I can target people who’ve already shown interest in my posts.

Tweet engagements: 32,000 people engaged with my tweets. Profile visits: 8,800 people visited my profile. Retweets: 29 retweets from my content.

I gained 201 new followers for $5.96 per follower. This is important because those new followers will now see not only my ads but also my organic posts. Building relationships through organic content helps get people to click on your links or visit your website without even needing to click on an ad.

Video Views and Conversions

I had 63,000 video views. Now, I can target those viewers with ads that direct them to my website because they’ve already watched my content and are familiar with me.

Landing page conversions: 38 people visited my landing page and filled out a form. Conversion rates are lower compared to other platforms, but since X ads are still relatively new, I believe that building my retargeting list and nurturing relationships will lead to more conversions over time.

Final Numbers: Calls and Clients

  • 15 booked calls
  • 9 new clients
  • $19,000 in recurring subscription sales

All of this from a $1,000 ad spend! That’s a 19x return on ad spend, which I’m not getting anywhere else—not on Google, not on Meta.

Patience and the Right Approach

You need patience, and you need to do it right. I don’t immediately push people to my website. Instead, I post personal content and encourage engagement. When people like, comment, or share, they’ll see my retargeting ad the next day.

Here’s an example: I post something like, “Hey, like, comment, and share, and I’ll DM you something.” It’s all about building relationships. Once they’ve seen my face, they’re more likely to remember me and click on my website link when they see my ad again.

Try It Yourself

I encourage you to give it a shot. Here is my X ads blueprint to copy and use.

Remember, don’t just post ads trying to get people to your website. You need to build trust, engagement, and your retargeting list first. Provide value, and the sales will follow when people see you for the second or third time.
